ava and her christmas tree | dinner outfit (we went to corso 32 in edmonton, and if you have the chance you absolutely must go | pre-christmas relaxation at my mom’s | christmas morning cinnamon rolls made by moi
by now, we’re all back to our usual schedules and missing the downtime already! it’s always so bittersweet after the holidays, isn’t it? january can definitely be a little blue – you’re not alone in that. these few tidbits from my two week christmas break remind me what a great holiday was had; my boyfriend came home with me for the first christmas, and it was such an amazing feeling having all the people i love under one roof for the holidays!
we spent most days with my mom, sister and her husband, and got in bff time, shopping (edmonton seriously has the best shopping because west edmonton mall gets the flagship stores before anywhere else) and we watched a tonne of movies… i haven’t had time to watch a movie all year so it was really, really nice to unplug and enjoy. i’m always torn about how much personal stuff to share on the blog, mainly because i never want to come across as narcissistic and i started this blog not as a personal vanity project, but to inspire and inform, and this post is definitely my most personal because you get to meet my mom… (i might be biased, but i think she’s the best). make the most out of your week and good luck with your 2013 resolutions!
christmas day drive to my uncles house for the big dinner | a fresh year means a skin care audit – picked up some new items to refine my routine | pre-new year drinks with my boyfriend and a friend at earls | making pancakes for my fam at my mom’s place
a framed photo (of me, my bf, bff and her hubby) makes a great gift | an old fashioned ham for new years eve (it was so delicious!) | my mom in her gorge new red coat | back home, and missed this little nugget so, so much
always nice to come home to new products in my mailbox – testing out this all natural cherlyn skincare over the next few weeks | do i really have to take down my christmas tree and lights? (yes, a string of lights is burnt out on the tree, guess that means it’s time…) | we missed our bed so much during vacay that we spent our first evening home in bed with popcorn and movies (side note: i permanently switched diet pepsi out for lemon perrier and don’t miss it at all!)
